Namaste, Kishore and welcome to the forum. Pay no attention to Sinatraman, he is one of our 'untouchables'. :) I am a great admirer of the Indian culture and history, bit of an armchair historian of that area. For my money, there is no more beautiful building than the Taj Mahal, of course, and the geography in your country is stunning - many people are not aware of how much variety there is, from the southern jungles to the Maratha hills, Kerala, Rajasthan, and of course the Himalayas.

Hi Photo-bugs:
I'm from Mumbai. A not-so-long-ago photo-bug ! Love the activity. outside my beautiful golden retriever, the camera is my 'best friend'. I travel around the world for 3-4 months each year. Without my traveling companion, I'd be dead meat !!!
Today is an exciting day - my new Canon 60D arrives !!
Can't wait to get my paws on it !
February I have my 1st solo exhibition 'Abstract Photography' - walls, ceilings, pavements, trees & more !
Let's hope it's a success.
Cheers,
Kishore
Hi Photo-bugs: br I'm from Mumbai. A not-so-long-a... (show quote)

Kishore,
You truly do have a beautiful eye, and an amazing country. Like I said earlier, India is one of the places I woulld love to go to.
Several friends of mind have been and tell me it's an experience of a life time.
Your work is very beautiful, I enjoyed looking at your website. Please realize that you will get some critique when you show it. That's what happens on photography forums.
People are not trying to be mean, but point out to you things you could do better. So don't get your feelings hurt, if you do not get a possitive respond. No one get that 100% of the time.
If you can be thick skinned enough, you will learn a lot on the forum. Listen to what other have to say, and understand that even if it hurts, it could be the best thing for you to hear so you can grow as a photographer.
Nobodies perfect, and beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
So welcome, and thanks for sharing your beautiful photo's.

Cheers, Rachel
PS: I use to live in South Africa and in England, I met a lot of wonderful people from India in both of those countries. Some of the most senitive (kindly) people I've ever met.

Hi Cecil:
How nice of you to connect.
And thanks very much for the compliment on my photography. Did you visit my website or are you referring to the 2 wildlife photos posted when I joined this community?
Where in the UK do you reside ? And where all in India did you visit ? When you say 'in the line of duty', do you mean corporate of armed forces ?
My apologies for so many Q's, but it's one way of getting to know you better !
Cheers,
Kishore

Hahaha...I started with the XTi [I think that's the alternate name for the Canon 400D] and now after 4 years a change - finally ! As Nike says "Just Do It"...go, get it, John !

Hi Kishore
I can't find the URL for your website. I was in the Navy and did an attachment @ INS Vendurthy, in Cochin. I have made a couple of trips to Madras too, in the line of duty. I am resident in Stockton on Tees, Cleveland - have been here for many years. My e-mail address is: gunney01@btinternet.com. Do contact me.
Nice to make your acquaintance and good 'shooting' - with the Camera, I mean!
Cheers
Cecil

Hi Again:
My website is www.kishoreshivdasani.com - somehow I had a feeling your stint would have been with the armed forces and not corporate. Don't mind my saying but you do look like an armed forces officer ! Took a quick look at Stockton-on-Tees...quite near to Middlesborough.
Having just got the 60D I can't wait to get started - again !
Good luck to you & yours,
Kishore

Hello Rachel:
What a lovely long email - thanks.
Now how did you notice my beautiful eyes ?? Hahaha....
I have green eyes - rare for an Indian man !
Well I started out taking interest in wedding photos [friends']. Indian weddings are very colorful. One thing led to another and when I quit the corporate world [21/2 years ago] I knew that retirement meant that I MUST have a hobby that would keep me busy - what could be better than Photography ?? Then last year, I sold 4 of my Clouds at an exhibition - that's how it all began !!
India is beautiful. Last year we drove from Mumbai all the way to Ladakh covering the various states along the way. Many of my 'sunsets & sunrises' were shot while on that tour. It was an amazing trip. Drove the highest motorable road in the world when in Ladakh - 18500feet !! Next week we will drive Mauna Kea at 13900feet at Big Island Hawaii. Can't wait especially now that I have a new 60D !! Come to India - you won't regret it.
Cheers,
Kishore

Oh Yes Rachel - no worries about criticisms - I welcome them [most of the time to be honest]. I have no qualms about that at all...can't please everyone now - can I [read:we] ?? Where in SA and England did you reside and what were you doing then ?
It's so wonderful to live in different countries !
We lived in Scandinavia [21/2 years in Copenhagen and 21/2 years in Stockholm] - my work took me there in the early to mid '80s.
Today I am in San Jose, California.
Thanks for the warm and encouraging advice,
Kishore

Colorado ! I can't wait to visit your beautiful state ! I've read and heard so much about the mountains and beauty. Is it snowing already ? Or cold at least. Thank you for appreciating my work - makes me feel good & it's very encouraging too.
What breed is your dog ? We have Golden Retriever - left behind in India since I'm in San Jose at the moment. It's not easy to leave such a beautiful pet behind for so long [3 months].
What so you love shooting ? Please do share a few Colorado pics taken by you.
Cheers
