Great shot. You were lucky to get that close. Pity you only had a camera as they make excellent eating and there is so much meat on them

Black and white works so well that it looked like the natural color of the hare. In addition to our cottontail rabbits we also have varying hares (commonly called whites rabbits). The turn white during the winter and are hard to spot in th snow.

Bud, we gave the same here in the UK that we call Mountain hares, as we typically only find them in the uplands. They change into white in the winter, and back to brown in the summer. In the transition period they can really stand out!
