Louisiana guns laws are obviously not to blame. Louisiana "The Hunter's Paradise" has some of the most lax gun laws, but the problem is deeper than easy access to weaponry.

Our hearts go out to the people of Louisiana and a moment of silence... blah, blah, blah.

As long as nothing changes the NRA will be happy. Let's keep the NRA happy because the 2nd Amendment... blah, blah, blah.

Now is not the time to talk about gun laws... blah, blah, blah.

Islamic Terrorism and ISIS are expected to take credit for this heinous act... blah, blah, blah.

WAKE UP AMERICA!!!

Gun owners know guns are NOT the problem... blah, blah, blah.

Welcome to the new America. Is it what you want?

Too bad, Obama didn't take away all your guns!

News maybe reporting a Spike in guns sales by members of "Black Lives Matter".

Why are you blaming the NRA for the fruit of Obama's and the democrats' rhetoric? This has nothing to do with gun laws and everything to do with democrat politics....

Ah... as expected, the "There is No Solution Posse" has shown up. Surely amongst you there is the possibility of a reasonable effort to solve this situation, instead of just throwing up your collective hands and saying... "It can't be done!"

Artz please, I didn't see you offer up any solutions unless of course the meme you posted was the solution. :)

The new black panthers and black lives matter etc. don't like the police. Fine with me--OK how about the police just avoid those areas. No go zones for the police. I wonder how long it would take for the people in those places to beg for police protection.

Keep in mind that every gun is possibly a life ender. So it is an important consideration. I am NOT recommending the end of the 2nd Amendment.

Possible solutions:
Restrict access and quantity of gun powder for sale.
Raise the cost of bullets... maybe $100/bullet? for 22. and higher for more power. Price is negotiable as long as one keeps in mind that it is the price of a life.
Eliminate high capacity magazines.

Deeper background checks.
Psychological evaluations of gun owners.
Fingerprint activation for weapons by owners.
Gun owners should BELONG to a local Militia, recognized and approved by the local community.

Close gun show sale loopholes.
Offer higher payments to people turning in guns. Walmart gift cards etc. Give Walmart or any retailer, a tax break for those cards.
Very LONG prison sentences for illegal gun sellers and high rewards for turning them in to Law enforcement. Make it worthwhile to turn in an illegal gun seller.

What about all the innocent people or "criminals" that already have guns? When they cross the law... then we act. Until then let them keep what they have, after all, they have not broken the law yet. When they do...

All gun owners should have INSURANCE to pay for any damage done, killings, robberies, etc.

Well Rac, that's a beginning. I'm sure I could come up with more.

Your "new America" has much less to do with guns and their availability and much more with the arrogance, condescension and authoritarianism by those in power. Whether it's the politicians in DC, or the state capitols or the local police, they are out of control and a revolt against them has begun. You can see that in the selection of political candidates and the attacks on cops.

You post your "blah blah blahs" as though these murders in Baton Rouge occurred out of the blue. They didn't -- they are a response to years of abuse by the people in power. Many are content with keeping that revolt contained to the ballot box, but others have reached the boiling point. This won't be the end of it by a long shot. It's like the powers that be have been walking deeper and deeper into a swamp and have no idea where they are or how to get out of it.

Would that be like requiring all car owners to have INSURANCE to pay for any damage done by accidents?

I own a car with no insurance at all, and no registration either. Only reason that a car needs insurance or a registration, and a driver needs a liscence is if he drives on public roads. On private land you don't need any of those things.

So are you advocating for requiring gun insurance only if you shoot it in public places?

Typical leftist nonsense that won't stop these black trash Democrats from murdering our good police. On top of that they want to tax everything
that has to do with guns. How did prohibition work out? How about a bounty on Black Lives Matter demonstrators and a very steep fine and a minimum of
20 years in hard time prison for anybody selling drugs.
