This is a very fun series and lovely work. I love the clothes and headresses! The photos of the lady in white are beautiful.

Kevin, these are beautiful. I love the apparel of both the lady in lavender and the lady in white. So beautifully ornate. I'm not certain they are unhappy, just trying to balance the headdress and look stunning. Are the brides/families here a bit more prosperous than most of the Indonesians that you show us? Their clothing is so bright and bejeweled. just stunning! The eyes of all of these people are so mesmerizing. Certainly a people of beauty.

Carla, these photo's where taken on Madura Island on the Eastern side of Java, I could see its a different culture from the main Island of Java & a long way from the Hindu Island of Bali so its all a bit different, I spent a week travelling the Island & did not see one foreign tourist. Most people are very poor but I saw 3 lavish weddings happening so where the money comes from I don't know. I will be putting more photo's up soon of some of the different things I saw like the corn fields being ploughed with bullocks, there's 40,000,000 people living on the Island so was a full on trip, my diet for the week was rice & noodles….
