Just joined this section of UHH. Have checked the various photos and love the helpful comments. I would appreciate the same as I am an amateur at nude photography. I wish to do better.

In fairness to your model, you are not giving her beautiful body the credit it is due.

You have a lovely model, this pose and image does little to highlight her form and beauty, Her body should be complementing the form of the tree not fighting it. Also the amputating of her right foot is a no no.

You are correct, however other photos, not shown, do display a beautiful lady. I was attempting to do something different with this shot. I found the outline of her body interesting, so attempted to highlight.

I would think if she was lying with her back against the curvature of the tree it would be a much more complimentary photo and pose, as long as you get the lighting correct so the front of her body and curves are not blown out or with specular highlights. Possibly using some shadows for accenting her body shape and shooting during a different time of day? That way it would accent and coincide with the tree curvature and would not be fighting with the tree, so to speak. Can you shoot her again as I proposed, and then post in a new topic in this forum?

Her body is basically black and white with heavy shadows. I would consider BW and spend more time with composition. Learn light! This very harsh and does not show the body as well as it should. The clouds, which are desired for landscape in here are a distraction. Just too many lines, very busy. Stick with simple.

is she trying to climb the tree? push it over? but to be fair I would have tried that shot too..... I think if she had her back against the tree it would have been great.

I think that if you had had the model arch her back - stretch out in a curve that more followed the curve of the tree trunk, and then done a complete silhouette...you'd had had a heckuva cool shot.

I agree with many of the comments that have already appeared. If you were going for the light and dark contrast you missed it with too many other features and details (clouds & sky, tree foliage); if you were trying to highlight the model's attributes I think a bit of fill lighting to lift the shadows would have helped. As for the pose, she looks like she is uncomfortable on the tree at this point, sort of just there and balancing and saying "Hurry up and shoot before I fall." A more comfortable "mastered the climb" pose would have helped, and that could have been facing the tree, facing away from the tree, or facing the camera.

I find the shot very interesting. I like the almost silhouette look with the light on her back side against the beautiful blue clouded sky. Is it just me or does it look as though she's leaning against a huge erection, ala Fay Wray and King Kong ?

Looking at this on my phone. I like the picture, it's challenging me from the 'norm'. I don't believe it's the best it could be but a very interesting experiment. I can understand what you are trying to achieve, there is a nice reflection of light and dark between the model and the tree. The profile is excellent but perhaps could be improved by having the legs both together. B and W? Yes I think with some careful adjustments it might be a lot better. As a starter shot the photographer should give himself a pat on the back. I like it
