What cops have gone free because the law judged them innocent?

Sorry I forgot that you guys struggle with Irony. In my original post I mentioned assault rifle so Ken Hubert mentioned the fact that only the military and a few individuals had assault weapons hence the rhetorical question to make the point who cares what weapon was used. The tragedy is this post is turning into a best weapon assessment not what can we do to stop this happening, over to you guys. What are you going to do. What's Trump and Clinton's take on this?

Hillary is blaming white people because 'we' don't talk to the blacks. How about telling them to cross their legs, knock
off the drugs, get a job, get off welfare and teach their kids about morals and principles and DUMP that POS criminal
loving Democrap party.

Bunko, one more thing that I would add to your remark, what about when a politician is bad? We have Hillary who was just raked over the coals by the FBI director, what about when she was bad? Is she to be held to a lessor standard in her bid for the presidency than our lowly police officials? How about our current president who was awarded liar of the year award a few years back by a fact checking organization? Is he to be held to a lessor standard? Police for whatever reason are kinda like conservatives in the regard that they are being held by the left to higher standards than they hold their own elected leadership.

I am ashamed and embarrassed for most of you and your ignorance. Fourteen ppl were shot in the last few days, seven were killed. Have you no humanity, no empathy? These people had families, relatives, friends and you guys attack others? What has happened to you, you surely were better people in your younger days, honestly, most of you are horrible sounding now. And yes, there are families, relatives and friends of the shooters too, think how many ppl are hurting and this is all you have to do? You should be ashamed.

It was only a matter of time for something of this magnitude to occur and the events in Minnesota and Baton Rogue catalyzed the Dallas tragedy. It is indicative of a serious malady in our society and does not necessarily point to a singular failure. It has resulted from a cornucopia of multifaceted failures within various strata in our society. So how do we fix it? To me, a large part of the issue is a lack of understanding about others. We have tried to teach. We have tried to integrate. We have tried to negotiate. We have thrown money at it. None of these strategies seem to produce results that are acceptable. We cannot force people to be open minded and willing to learn about others that are different. We make laws and we prosecute those that violate them (well, most of the time!) We pour massive amounts of money into communities and programs but little is accomplished. We need to have honest, objective and very frank conversations about specific issues that each side has. And these talks have to be accomplished with no finger pointing, retaliation (or the threat of) or labeling of others. The talks cannot be with leaders in a vacuum. The talks have to be at the community level, maybe even at the block level. But this would be too much of a Utopian vision as I have neglected the nature of humans to take unfair advantage of situations like we are in and attempt to gain personal rewards at the expense of others. So we will struggle and have riots and killings and then it will settle down for a few more years only to repeat itself. I am not hopeful that the race issue will ever be resolved in this nation.
It was only a matter of time for something of this... (show quote)

Good points. I am with you that the causes of these kill sprees are multi-faceted. Its not all the dems fault or all the repubs fault or the NRAs fault, etc. Many issues are stressing our society at the same time.

Thanks for your comments.

The shame is with folks like you, Donna, who have platitudes ready at the drop of a hat, are quick to condemn others, yet have no solutions to the problems. Hells bells, I don't even see evidence that you and your like can even define the problem! Your instinctive knee-jerk is to blame non-progressives for pretty much anything that disagrees with your dogma.

Then......poof! It must be others who are ignorant, because it CAN'T be you! After all.....you, and only you, care!

Sorry, but it's never that simple. Most problems are complex to define, yet often simple to solve. The problem with politics in America right now is we refuse to define the problem because we are blinded by the rage of our political views, thus every shooting becomes a guns control issue for progressives.

Guess what? Perhaps it's about time for a little accountability by those doing the damn shooting.

Since the NRA has never promoted" Assault" weapons, your argument is moot.

I think you hit the nail on the head! Too many people bitch and point fingers, yet they fail to recognize "issues" have been created by their team as well as the other guy's (sorry ladies!) team. Seems they live in a cloistered world because of their inability to confront issues honestly. It isn't always the other guy's fault! We have seen this in the relationship between Congress and Administration since 2009.

And they will. Still be black. If you think being black is not being looked down on still, you may need to look around.
