Wonderful images. I'll be there in Sept.
Really nice photos. I do like the boulder in the foreground. Frankly, I normally shoot without a foreground object, but I'm trying to train myself to do otherwise. You did a nice job getting everything in focus. Would you share what your settings were for that shot? Thanks.
I did in my comment. I generally shoot anywhere from f8 to f22 to bring all into focus. I also place the focal point in the foreground area or in the 1/3 area.
Wapiti,
Trust you will find the weather in this area as nice as I. Look for a little park along 93 between the road and the Vermilion River. It is a great spot for scenery and a picnic lunch.

Beautiful images !! My sister-in-law is named after Moraine Lake. Have not been there in years. I see where the glaciers have really receded. Thanks for sharing.
Dennis,
Interesting regarding you sister-in-law. Trust she is as beautiful as the lake.
Think that the only place that comes close or surpasses the Ice Field Parkway is Glacier National Park. You live in one beautiful state!

Wow! Outstanding captures of some beautiful places. I enjoyed them all.
Thank you for sharing.
Al five are very good. I am partial to photo #3 because there are not areas in the shade and I like the composition.

Lake Moraine is located near Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada. Both are extremely scenic. Photos are taken on the road between Lake Louise and Moraine Lake and at Lake Moraine. The first of Lake Moraine is capturing foreground, middle ground, and background. The last is middle ground and background. Guess the better photo is in the eyes of the beholder. VISIT THE ICE FIELD PARKWAY IF YOU CAN and take the best camera you can afford with a tripod and polarizing filter.

Beautiful. love em all RJ.
Wonderful shots and superb weather to help make it happen. Curious, I note that you are from Kissimmee, FL and Alexandria, VA-- did you drive all the way there or did you fly in to wherever and then rent a vehicle?

Sensational photos of an area I have photographed in the past.
Imagel,
We have been to the Ice Field Parkway about 5 times. On several occasions, we have used this as a partial route to Prince Rupert to board the Alaska Ferry for many possibilities. We have take our car on the ferry and the hotel we stay in Prince Rupert allowed us to part our car free during the ferry trip. That was probably the nicest arrangement.
We have mostly flown into Calgary and rented a car and return for the flight home. This is two trips along the parkway, great. This last time we flew to Vancouver, took the train to Jasper rented a car, then the Parkway to Calgary returning the car there. There are so many option. Glad to share our experiences and answer your questions if you do make the trip which I highly recommend.
