My old photo printer has gone to the garbage tip & I need a new one. My budget is about £100 ($150). Does anyone have any recommendations please.

I like the Canon PIXMA Pro 100. It might be a little over your budget, but there are usually rebates offered depending where you buy. B+H, Adorama are a couple places you might start. I hope you can get one in your budget range.

Thank you but it's an A4 printer I'm looking for, and way out of my price bracket.

Mine was $150.00 after the "mail in" rebate. I think it was $399.00 and it took about 6 weeks to get the rebate check. Also it came with a box of 50 sheets of Canon Lusture paper 13" x 19" size. I purchased it from B+H camera in New York.

Regardless of what you buy, remember the printers cheap. Its the ink that kills you.

Here's a good place to start - comparisons.

The rebate on the Pixma Pro 100 here in the states is now $250 which leaves you at $149 end cost after rebate. You can print A4 on the Pixma Pro 100 but I don't know if the rebate extends to the UK. They show that this particular rebate program ends June 30th.

Shipping, etc., to the UK could be pricey.

Replacing all the cartridges would cost more than the rebated printer.

But if you keep track of the inks in your stock, you can generally buy in enough quantity to qualify for B&H's free shipping and occasional sales. It doesn't make them free, but it may "lessen the pain". Google searches for the inks you need may also bring up some lower prices.

I bought my Canon Pro 100 for 160 (with shipping) on E-Bay two years ago .. I print on an average of three a month. Still giving excellent prints - and the B&W prints are extremely good.....
