he Federal Assault Weapons Ban (AWB) — officially, the Public Safety and Recreational Firearms Use Protection Act — is a subsection of the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994, a United States federal law that included a prohibition on the manufacture for civilian use of certain semi-automatic firearms it defined as assault weapons, as well as certain ammunition magazines it defined as "large capacity."

Of course the NRA bought a bunch of congressmen and would be soldiers of freedom like the the Hammonds agreed and the definition was changed. But, then again St. Ronnie was out of office!

[quote=Keenan]WTF is your point? You and your ilk will invariably point to non sequiturs, like the gun deaths in Chicago that have nothing to do with the issue of the thread, and pile on your tired, sophomoric sarcasm but I never see you are you "righty" compadres say shit about something like the way gun nuts helped the San Bernardino Terrorists acquire their assault weapons to kill 14 Americans and injure 24 more, or even the fact that NRA-funded GOP Congressmen blocked all bills that would keep those on the Terrorist Watch list from purchasing guns.

WTF is YOUR point, TROLL?
What "gun nuts" helped the SB shitheads acquire their mythical "assault weapons"?
Do you have any supporting documentation that shows your supposed connection between the NRA and GOP Congressmen? And/or WHAT bills they "blocked? Or is that just another of your talking points?

Apparently you seem to have a problem with the Terrorist Watch list. But then there's that pesky Constitution again. You CANNOT restrict a Constitutional right without DUE PROCESS. Do we have to spell that out for you again? I'm sure this has been gone over many times but I'll repeat it for you again. DUE PROCESS. Get it?

Hey, here's an idea... How about a special list just for you. It could be called the STFU List. Once your name goes on it - without ANY due process - your First Amendment right to free speech will be completely restricted. Does that sound fair to you?

You are full of it. If your assertion were true that Constitutional rights were absolute and cannot be restricted without due process, then there would be no TSA, no baggage searches when boarding public transportation, no Secret Service, no Gitmo, no NSA surveillance of law abiding citizens, no restrictions against yelling "fire!" in a crowded theater, etc., etc.

Oh, and as to your request for me to STFU? Go stick it where the sun don't shine.

I requested nothing. It was an illustration of the process, dumbass. But keep spinning. And not answering questions. It's what you're good at.

Due process is a ploy used by the NRA to advance the cause of gun manufacturers whom they represent. The Brady Bill was not a matter of due process, nor the Sullivan Act, etc.

We as a nation have to get a grip on the problem of guns getting into the hands of crazy people, irresponsible people, drunks, terrorists, etc.

One of the first steps should be the ability to do research. But, again the NRA and the gun lobby prevents this simple first step.

No one wants to take away anyone's gun(s). I have a gun and I have actually shot at others who had guns. A friend once said there would be a lot less hunting if the animals had guns! However, there does not seem to be the same logic when people have guns. As guns have increased more and more people are getting shot by other people.

I can agree that guns don't kill anyone but unstable people with guns do!

Lastly, remember that most shootings are between family members and friends. So, if you have family members with guns or friends with guns, have them leave them with the bar keep just like in the old west!

Have you had any education at all? Any? You sound and behave like someone that just woke up from a 150 year nap.
Are you even functional? That picture of you holding on for dear life on your little pony, is that where you stay all the time?

As usual, you are full of shit. Some years ago, lawmakers, mostly Republican attempted to pass legislation to make it much more difficult for the mentally ill and the deranged to get their hands on weapons. The ACLU got it defeated. The NRA, you lying bastard was 100% behind it. As usual, most of the severe problems in this country are due to liberal policies and liberal groups. This is just another one. Get your facts straight.

That was a number of years ago and it is not the position of the NRA today.

Try to deal with reality!

Good suggestion, but you do realize that asking these wingers to "deal with reality" is akin to asking a child to act like an adult, right?

Wow. I guess the 247 shot and killed and the 1385 shot and wounded in Chicago so far this year must have some really shitty family and friends...

They cannot deal with reality nor can they deal on a civil basis. They are quick to call one names, just like Donald Duck nee Trump they are immature and rather worthless!

Actually they were! But, here one goes again reality vs deranged beliefs.

Three days, 64 people shot, six of them dead: Memorial Day on the streets, and the violence that has engulfed families and neighborhoods.

As I said if with family and friends who are armed as you are better be on your guard.
