Beautiful shot, Bob! Brings back wonderful memories of walking to the local library and checking books out...and sometimes just sitting there and reading them! I went back to that library and it still has the same smell! LOL (It's a good smell!).

Yeah raymondh, but now I have to wear reading glasses.
Bob, very nice work on this shot, the detail is indeed superb.
Fwiw, this looks a lot like a "Carenegie Library"' my Mom was a librarian and these were special to her. Her Mom worked in a "Carnegie" in Ludington, Michigan her whole adult life.

My late husband and I went to a sale of old "stuff" from Palm Beach County School District many years ago. They had two beautiful antique wooden card catalog cabinets for sale, which we bought. While we did not use them for cards, they made really interesting storage drawers for small things like screws, nuts, small tools, etc., in his air conditioned shop. People who visited us always commented on the cabinets because they were so unusual. They would have fit perfectly inside this library. Love the photo and the memories.

Thank you Patty. My other love has always been wooden furniture ..... I can imagine that they're very beautiful.
A very nice image Bob.
Sadly with Council cuts to their budgets we are losing some libraries. Some are being kept open by local people volunteers.

I agree with you Roger, it would very sad to lose any more libraries. But then, how many young people read books any longer?
the dewey decimal system? A long time ago and I go to the Library often.

Thanks Lenny. It was a way to assign all books by a descending hierarchical numbering scheme that corresponded with areas in a library that contained those numbered books on the shelves.
