Has anyone used a ALZO flash bracket?. I am looking for a flash bracket that is good but not expensive. I came across the ALZO and it looks like what I want especially the one with the umbrella kit for $119.48. I don't trust the opinions that I see listed on Amazon and I don't see the umbrella kit one listed on B&H. If anyone on Hedgehog has used one please let me know what you think. You don't have to have the umbrella kit just the main unit. Thank you for your comments.
I have it with the umbrella. The bracket itself is well made and I like it - it's easy to flip the camera from landscape to portrait and back - just as in their video. The umbrella is disappointing and very cheaply made - I doubt that the umbrella would last long if I were to use it regularly. Also, the catch lights your subjects eyes (from the umbrella) are not flattering in my opinion. I use a 8" rectangular softbox instead of the umbrella.
Thank you very much ecobin.

I have used Alzo's flip bracket. It lasted about a year before it broke. It has an engineering defect. The flip part gets loose from the upright support it is mounted to. I tried fixing it but had no luck. I am using
http://www.custombrackets.com/products/camera-flash-brackets.html the digital pro SV model. Expensive maybe, but this bracket is well built for lots of use. Another issue with the Alzo bracket is that it is not centered on the tripod, ( camera weight makes it tilt) so you will have to reset the level continuously. It has an awkward locking arm . Generally it is not easy to use, always needing to level it on the tripod. And it is an American made product.

I had that bracket, Used it for two years. It worked. Sometimes it was difficult to flip, cannot remember why, just that it was. Also the base was constantly coming loose. I used to carry a snub nose flat blade screwdriver in my pocket. Was constantly tightening it. I eventually went to the ProMediaGear Boomerang Flash Bracket. LOVE it!! Had alot of people, photographers too, comment on how nice it is. Spend the extra money. You will be happy. I do weddings, the quality is great and the bracket is good for carrying the camera.

I have used the Alzo bracket, plus a couple of others. The Alzo is excellent as far as brackets go, but two problems that are common to ALL
brackets are:
1) They put the weight of the flash and batteries well above the camera making the whole set up very unbalanced, top heavy and awkward. Plus on 10-11 hour assignments like a wedding the set up becomes very tiring.
2) It also requires a flash cord which is not only expensive for a good one, but just another part to create problems.
I gave up on the brackets after I discovered the "Peri-Scoop by Lite Genius which has accomplished the same thing without the problems . . . and it costs less than I paid for my flash cord alone! Check it out on this short video . . .

I have a custom bracket PRO-E which is one of their older models but I really love mine, Very easy to flip and reasonably compact and not as unruly as the ALZO. You might want to look them up.
