Hi guys. My name is Roger, working/living in West Africa. I have been lurking for a couple of months now, as a result I have been trying to use my canon 450D on manual, instead of auto. Also I am trying to get a handle on dealing with RAW data. My spare time (for photography) is very limited due to work, but I hope to post some of my pictures in the not too distant future. Thanks.

Welcome Roger, Please post pictures. I spent two years in Liberia ( '64-'66) with the Peace Corps. I was treated with great kindness. I look forward to your future posts.

Rock Dog, I spent 18 years in Liberia (1958 - 1976) and was PC Staff (agric and rural development) from 1963 -68). I should know you, or at least recognize the name, but the beard and hat throws me. Retired now and living on the western slope of the Blue Ridge.

Welcome Jolly Roger, I have a 450D also and only shoot in JPG, and am very happy, good camera

I'm Phil Yocum. I was in Lofa County, Fissebu. I think we exchanged PM's back in March. I don't want to hi-jack Roger's thread here. I hope we get some current news and photos from a part of the world we both know and love. This is a much smaller and more interconnected world than most realize. I spent eight years in Nigeria up to the end of 2000, then 2001 to present in Freetown, which is all later than your time in Liberia. As they say "Getting older is mandatory, getting wiser is optional" I believe using this forum will help me to get wiser.
