I notices a few folks list the Canon EF 100-400L II and the Sigma 150-600S.
I have both and more often than not I use the Canon lens with a 1.4x converter instead of the Sigma. This combination may be 40mm shorter than the Sigma but it's also a boat load lighter and still focuses as fast or faster than the Sigma.
The Sigma is a great lens but it's not easy to handhold. I usually have the Sigma on a tripod mounted to a full frame (5Dsr) body and the EF 100-400 + 1.4X mounted to a 7DII.
What brand converter do you have? I'm getting ready to purchase a 100-400 in the next few weeks, and if still doesn't have enough reach, I would be interested in adding the converter to my bag.

You can see in my Sig which lenses I currently own. Most of them are EF so they work on both bodies. I have a couple that are EF-S. While I am pretty happy with my lens collection, there are still a few I'd like to pick up before I die. In no particular order:
1. Sigma 50mm f1.4 ART lens. I currently have the Canon f1.4 and it's a nice lens, but everything I've read about the Sigma ART gives me GAS. I would have to sell the Canon of course.
2. Canon 16-35mm f4 L IS (The new Canon Wide Angle that is getting rave reviews)
3. Canon 135mm f2 L
4. Canon 100mm f2.8 L Macro
If I had to pick only one from this list it would be the 16-35 f4
What, if any, lenses are you still pining over?

Something big and expensive for my Canon!!! 500mm or more---HA!
I'd like an EF 35mm f/1.8 to use on my Rebel crop (1.6) APS-C Canon camera which is supposed to be 50mm on a Full Frame (FF) camera but I will make do with my Opteka EF 85mm f/1.8 and my Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II lenses. These lenses fascinates me! Otherwise, I like what I have and feel lucky to have what I have…..Lately I have been experimenting with a Neewer 48 Micro LED Ring Bundle with LCD display power control, Adapter Rings & Flash Diffusers for Canon (and Nikon, etc.) Price $35.88 total made in China --lovely! AND 3 Neewer® 12-20-36mm Macro Automatic Extension Tube Set DG for Canon EOS Cameras Such as 1d Mark II,III,IV,5D Mark II,7D,10D,20D,30D,40D,50D,300D,350D,401D,0D,500D. Price $32.99 total. Man!! -- this is nice not having to mortgage my place to enjoy these mAcro (not mIcro) tools. I had read about these tools but never dreamed that I'd be using them.

To paraphrase Crocodile Dundee: "You call that a lens? Nah, THIS is a lens!"

If you like that focal length and want a prime lens, check out the Sigma 180 macro. I have one and it is very well built and sharp.
Thanks. I'll take a look at it.

I only have two primes - a 50mm f1.4 and a 300mm f4. Everything else I own are Zooms.
I only have two lenses, both AI-S MF. 50mm f1.4 and 105mm f2.5. I used to have the 300mm f4.5 but it was stolen with all my stuff back in 1994.
I'd love a couple of nice zooms just for the convenience factor. Maybe 18-300 or 28-300.
BTW, camera is D7100. Also have FE2.
I currently have (Nikon) an 18-35, an ancient 24 mm that is just taking up space, 24-85, 28-105, 70-300, 70-200 f/2.8, a 2X tele extender, and a Tamron 500 Mirror lens. I am about to purchase (shhhh, don't tell whats-her-name) the 200-500. I also need to get something in the 90 to 105 macro range, but the one that really gives me gas is the 85mm f/1.4, but I just cannot justify the cost for the little use I would actually get from it.
i would love to have the Nikkor 200 F 2 and the micro 200 f 4. ( i know but this is a dream list).
In the way of bodies i would love to own one of the new Leica digital bodies without a screen, so i could continue to use all this M glass. and one of those Hasselbald backs that you can put on a 500CM and shoot.
And finally some guy had a custom made, 1 up 8x10 full frame back made. i have been dreaming about just such a creation for a long time (

I'm satisified with all the gear I have - no GAS.

At least 3 more in this order:
1). Sigma ART 18-35 f/1.4
2). Sigma ART 50 f/1.4
3) 300 mm prime
4) 18-200 f/3.5-5.6
The 300mm should be last because of the price and the 18-200 is only a minor consideration. Other primes may be added to this list.

A Voigtlander Nokton 25mm f/0.95, since the Mitakon version won't fit on my Olympus and possibly my Kodak either. It is the exact equivalence equivalent of a 50mm f/1.8 and a FF sensor - angle, DOF, and ISO would be the same.

Canon does not make a 200 macro.

They made one back in the day with FD mount. Tamron has an EF mount 70-200 Macro also.
I'm shooting with a Sony and adapters. All but my 55 are old manual focus and Canon did make an FD 200 4 macro that does not need extension tubes to go 1:1. That is what I'm looking at, same with the big lens, I can get an old manual focus 500/600 for around 1000.
