Does anyone have any recommendations on good sites to take photos in the Destin FL area?

Looks like the beach is a good spot. You can get two sides of the world in just a small space. Sunset and sunrise. Beach silhouettes. Waves. That is one of my favorite things to do.

There are so many options in Destin. The shoreline, shore birds, the harbor area especially at night, beautiful homes and landscapes and the list goes on and on. A short drive from Destin to the East are other smaller coastal towns with lots of scenic areas and light houses and wildlife refuges. Also try searching for a photography Meetup group in or close to Destin. It costs nothing to join and you may want to go to a Meetup if there is one scheduled for the time you are there. You can message the members for suggestions of places and things to shoot as they are locals and will know the best areas. Also in Pensicola the Naval Air Museum is awesome with lots to shoot.

Bingo! I am there "even as we speak" looking out over the white sand and emeral water from our balcony. All the suggestions above are good. There are some unspoiled areas that have been preserved where there is no development. One of those is the Top'sl preserve just east of Destin.Public access is from 30A or if you are staying @ Sandestin or Top'sl resorts it is a short walk down the beach. The drive down 30 A will take you thru Grayton Beach, Watercolors and Seaside. Have a great time. Joe Peva

Really just about any place you look down there, whitest sand in the world and bluest cleanest water ever seen. All along the coast is great, hiwy 98 runs along the coast and it's a great drive with a lot of great possibilities.

Your pictures will be right in front of you every place you go. Destin has beautiful beaches, really white sand. Take enough CD cards with you. You could even go to the East coast if you have the time, however the sand will be gray over there. Have fun.

Fabulous place for family photos. We had a mini reunion there last summer. Twenty-two of us. Spent one entire evening photographing them on the beach. The golden glow of the sunset created great light. Told them all to dress in white shirts and tan shorts or pants. Photos were beautiful with the white sand and the blue water in the background. Take a tripod so,you can mount your camera and be in a few shots, too. Several families used their photos on their Christmas Cards. Enjoy this beautiful beach.

Just a tip....If you want to go fishing, don't go on one of those big boats with a hundred people. Rent a charter boat with 2 or 4 other people and split the cost.

I agree with SteveR. If you want to go fishing, only take the charter boats with no more then four people. They will go out 70-80 mile in the Gulf....then you will catch some big fish. (Been There--Done That.)

Ditto on the above. Good shots everyplace around Destin.

You should try and get in on base at Eglin, go to the O'Club and wait for the dolphin to come on in from the golf. It can be almost any time during the day sometimes in the morning, or during the early afternoon.

Take good pictures and pass them on.

I have a second home in Destin, and I agree with everything people are saying. I love the beach shots, sunsets, sunrises, etc, etc. Enjoy the view....the gulf and white sand are just beautiful.

Be careful where you stay. We stayed in a beach front high rise, had a gorgeous view....but the mattresses were absolutely horrible!! We paid enough to get decent beds!!

I lived in southern FL. for 4 years and would say anywhere. The whole coastline is beautiful.
