Dark monitor on NikonCoolPix S3200

Our Boys and Girls Club (4th and 5th grade) have several S3200's. Three of them have developed dark monitors: the data icons remain on the screen. All of them returned to normal after just sitting still, turned off, only to fail again. One was sent for repair while still under its warranty period to be returned with nothing found to have been wrong. The repair people have not responded to my inquiry. Are there any suggestions of why it happens and how to prevent another crash?

Look for "Contact Nikon" under "Service & Support".

Thanks. I spoke with the rep. We did a "reset" without solution then concluding that the only thing to do was to send them (3) to the Nikon repair. (The previous repair estimate was > than what we paid for them.)
