Indeed, who zooms in to 200% to view pixels or the clarity
of same? With a print.... why, they are viewed from a distance:
do people examine these with a jewelers loupe?
The technical graphs and chart and opinions of the experts
have convinced photographers that somehow, with this better lens.... you will take better photographs. Not so.
Odd that one of Leica's highest priced older lenses is a
soft-focus design.
Just for fun I took some pictures with an expensive Leica
50mm Summicron..... and then took the same scene with
a 35 dollar eBay Russian 50 mm Jupitar. Surprise, surprise:
they both take pictures. Use what you have: and have fun doing it.
Yes, that was the name of the lens. I saw recently on
the Leica Forum, some fellow picked one up at a garage sale
for pennies!
Your right, 97% of people wouldn't be auto tell the difference even if you blew up thepicture and put it up on the wall. Everyone usually looks at picture from a couple of feet away and never examine every detail and pixel. Most people don't have the eye for it so to them tey would look the same. Unless you are opening an at galley you would not need these real expensive lenses.
