Taking a walk in my garden this afternoon and just happened to look closely at the berries on this bush... ran inside to grab my camera! Feel free to comment and make suggestions, but I was just thrilled to come up on this fortuitous moment!

Nicely done shot of this cute little mantis! Beautiful colors, focus and a rare catch. Does anyone see walking sticks any more. When I was a kid one place we camped had lots of them. It's the only time I ever saw them. I'm wondering if they still exist :-).

Yeah, Walking Sticks still exist, but as we get older I think we just don't notice things like we once did. Besides, that's why they call them "walking sticks", because they blend in so well and are not at all noticeable.

Nice shots, I like the colors. I found a large mantis the other day on a bush in my front yard so I got out my 200mm macro lense and took this shot after which I added the tag line.

She looks angry but she was quite friendly

Yes they do blend in. It was funny, on that trip once we found one we found a number of them. Guess our attention became directed into that mode. I just remembered I once had a boss whose name was O. K.
Walkingstick. (This is not a joke) I don't know what the OK stood for. He was American Indian so I guess that helps explain the cool last name.
