Just got my new....er, should say, refurbed Mark III. $2099 from Canon. And already have my finger prints on the LCD monitor. Is there a "cover" for these?? Which one is preferable??
3 lenses due today, too.

I have used one similar to this one:

Vello Snap-On LCD Screen Protector for Canon 5D Mark III, 5DS & 5DS R

Or

GGS III LCD Screen Protector glass for CANON 5D Mark III

Look on Amazon. They clip on.

No matter what you put there it will get fingerprints too and you will need to clean it too. The area where you are seeing the fingerprints is essentially a clear piece of plastic over your LCD so your LCD is well protected from the factory. If you clean it with a good quality microfiber cloth you will be okay. Ive never seen a valid reason for these covers except for making the LCD dimmer.

Well, the various covers available do protect the plastic built in LCD cover from scratches which is why most people use them.

I dont know about you but Ive never scratched any of the plastic LCD covers on either of my Canon bodies, all six of them. The plastic is more resistant than some believe.

You can try one of these ...

or save some money and do as SS suggested - buy a pack of protectors for a phone and cut them to size.

This is the one I use on my 5DIII.

It's pricey but it's made of Schott Glass with 12 Layers of Anti-Reflective Coating. Used it since 2012 and still looks brand new with a perfect fit.

I've used the Giottos as well, worth the investment.

I have clear plastic/vinyl shields on all my LCDs. I prefer Zagg, but anything is better than nothing. If you ever sell or trade it, a scratch-free LCD is a big selling point.

I've used those covers in the past... but find they just get in the way and end up being more hassle than they're worth. After 12 years shooting with various DSLRs, I've never damaged one of those LCD screens. And they are easy to clean.

So, to me, NONE is preferable.

That's what I do. It works just fine. Back to no finger prints in seconds. I do the same with my 4s iPhone. I use the cloth that came with a lens.

Best wishes for enjoying the 5D M III. Mine is now 3 years old. I love it!! :D

.
I tried many variations of these. None of the plastic or clip-ons worked.
The plastic ones would soon start to peel at the corners. The ones that slid over the viewfinder always got dirt and lint behind them.
When the multi-layered glass ones(Gorilla Glass) came out, these were the winner, they fit perfectly, easy to wipe off and do not scratch.
The GGS brand seems to be one of the best. I have them on all of my stuff with no issues. Of course these are a personal preference. We all find what works for us.

Not being familiar with this camera, I'm a Canon guy but have never worked with the Mk3, does the screen fold up? If so you'd be better to clean and fold it for storage rather than a cover which won't allow you to fold (close) the screen.
