Another area I am exploring is taking a photograph and making it a digital painting. It's more than just apply effects and filters, and some times I am actually drawing on the photo. I think my first couple of attempts have been pretty good. I had them printed on canvas to add even more texture and effect. They're at Sunshine Resort, near Parker Dam on the river, CA side. What you you think?

Anyone else trying this?

I love these! Beautifully done! Would you mind sharing what filters/effects you used to do this lovely work?

My pictures didn't go thru... My sister and I were in black and white, colored in with digital and pencil, jeans were digital, and the flower was done using watercolor paper and transfering the picture which was printed on slick paper and using a paintbrush to "paint" it.

Agree, the second is much better. Not all techniques work with all pictures.

I am interesting in digital painting and have been taking on line courses from LVS Online. The courses are cheap in price, but loaded with information. I like portrait painting. I use Painter X. There is a learning curve, but it is a lot of fun to take one of your photos and paint over. Following is a digital painting that I did of my grand daughter.
