I saw a Nikon on the movie "Iris" that I was impressed with the looks of. It only appeared for a few seconds when a woman friend or sister (really don't know) was taking a photo of Iris or Bailey... or both . She was already ill and forgetful.
What camera was that if anyone knows??
Looks like a fine camera...

Did not see "Iris", but the Digital Nikon Df looks very much like a film camera-silver or black.
Nikon just announced that they are delaying delivery of the DL series cameras.
I haven't seen the film, but I think you would need to consider the era that was being depicted when the camera appeared. If it was anything more than a couple of decades ago, it would be a film camera. The Nikon F series were compact but had a purposeful look to them.

Yes, I think that it has to do with the earthquake in Southern Japan.

One article said it's because of the recent earthquakes that damaged the Sony sensor plant. I recall a delay previous to that, too.
EDIT: Ah, Bob beat me to it.

Any time a camera is shown in a movie or TV that shows the brand of the camera a stipend has been made by the manufacture. The early James Bond movies made wide use of this showcasing Sony products. When the brand as been blacked out then no stipend has been paid.

Most cameras on TV these days have the name taped over. NCIS is a major exception. I wonder if Nikon simply supplies the cameras as a cheap form of advertising. I remember years ago, many movies and TV shows would use only one brand of car - supplied by the manufacturer. Product placement is a huge, complicated business.

I'm surprised that no one has said that they only tape over Canon cameras, but are proud to display the Nikon brand. Lol
NCIS and the reruns of CSI Miami use Nikons and I am pretty sure Nikon pays them to show their cameras--just like Marlboro cigarettes did years ago and Budweiser beer--did you ever see them when they used their ring lights no photographer uses a ring light to shot ordinary photos like they do on these shows Ring lights are for macro shots

Close ups of blood spatter. Ring lights are used all the time in forensics for close ups.
