Some say to lubricate with gun oil. Scary to me, but does anyone have any thoughts/experience with this?
I'd sure like to know an answer to this as well. I have an EF 75-300 USM that makes a lot of squeaking noise during focus. Oil yes it does sound scary. Also where would you put it in?
The best solution is to have the lens serviced by a trained optics technician at a photo poducts repair facility.
Incorrect lubrication can seep into sensative parts of the lens and cause optical abberations in your images.
