Maybe I ask for too much.
I have bought a Yongnuo 568EX for Nikon + triggers for off camera firing. Is there any way to use it with Canon?
I assume, the flash & triggers for both camera brands are the same ....except the hot shoe is different.
Does anybody know if there is a conversion piece on market?

Thank you Miro

Been reading about the Cactus V6 system.
Looks like this would have been the thing to get instead of the Yongnou.

I would not assume that the brands are the same... The technology of N & C are both proprietary and Yongnuo has to reverse engineer the systems to make their product work.

I doubt there is a viable market to make flash conversion kits between the after market brands, unless they are engineered to be compatible with both systems from the inception of the product line.

To your question, I am not aware of a conversion kit.

I know yongnou flash triggers are in different versions with the rf603 there is rf603c and rf603n and the difference is the foot. I modded a rf603n to work with a panasonic g5 with them being transceivers it meant i could choose either of my pair to fire my yongnou flash. If I bought a yongnou rf603c then i can fire the flash with canon nikon pentax and panasonic, I think there is a sony version too.

However that is manual flash not ttl or ettl. I think you will need to talk to yongnou they have an active facebook page and are fluent in English. They were very helpful when I talked with them.

The lesson to be learned is, choose a system and stick with it. Which system, is nowhere near as important as sticking with ONE system. Unless of course you don't mind spending a lot of money and/or wasting time and effort, whether it be yours or somebody else's.

If the question of WHICH system is burning you in the area of your back pocket, the only way to honestly know is to use the same rule of sticking to ONE system and FORGET ABOUT IT for 6-10 years when you will magically no longer need, or want, to ask the question.

It works every time! More then that, you will always be right.

Mr. Blastoff - I do not appreciate when some members get rude in the answers and conversations. But this time...did you read my question? With all the respect to you I did not ask for your lecture. I know why I do it. So, do not waste your time on me an your ego. OK ?

Flash Q triggers are cheap but single pin (no TTL) and work with most brands

Thank for the input. I have Nikon7100, but for the travel/hiking I thought about Canon SX60...long zoom, RAW, hot shoe. I am 67 and somehow I think about making that easy .
Also, not buying a 600mm lens and still having a zoom plus strong flash (birds) was my intent.

You say the hotshoes are different? The multi-interface hotshoe is now the most common. Even Sony/Minolta changed to it.

I'm sorry you take it that way. I wasn't being, nor did I mean to be rude, rather I was direct and it wasn't a lecture. If you thought it rude, I apologize. I answered in that fashion because, and this is not directed "at you", these things are brought up quite often, too often actually, and are commonly "brand centric" in nature more then photographic.

I do suppose I might have been a bit testy. I woke up hurting a bit, as has been the norm recently, recovering from surgery and going bonkers to get around outside and get some things done. I don't have a lot of patience right now, but I didn't mean or intend to single you out. I'm sorry if I offended you.

That would be your first mistake. You have one of the all time great cameras.

If you are going to change, take a look at the Sony MILCs. FF or aps-c. I've been a Nikon user for many years with occasional Canons. So it was a real jump for me to go to the a6000 and a6300 (I have no need for the FF A7r) but they have so much more capability than my D7100 and I can still use my Nikon lenses that I didn't sell.

I don't think the fella is jumping ship just looking to get a sx60 as a light walk around camera. Makes sense to me although many people say the sx50 is better than the sx60. Is there a similar nikon?
