Have tried the following comp. Microsoft Pro 4, issues with spped, overheating etc. Not worth $$. TOSHIBA SATELLITE, but too bulky and not dedicated stylist to edit. Any opinions on the Dell XPS 12? Been described as a great laptop for illustrators and photography. Many features as the Pro but greater specs. Thank you in advance for the advice!

X201 Tablet Lenovo. Discontinued but available on Ebay. Use it all the time. Great as a tablet or conventional laptop

Check the Vaio Z Canvas on Amazon. I have one and it's great for Photoshop and Lightroom and I also use it for some minor artwork.

Just bought the HP Spectre 13-4003dx x360 2-in-1 with I7 processor for travel. Photoshop and Lightroom run great and the computer is extremely thin.

I recently read a comparison article about the new Dell laptop and a macbook Pro. It was more or less a toss-up, with the slight advantage going to Apple. Sorry I can't tell you the specific models.

I bought the 15" Retina MacBook Pro, 16 GB memory, it fits my needs perfect. i have 17,350 photos already, Plus I invested in (2) Terabyte external Hard Drives, a external CD Drive.
I take it on my photo adventures when I go out of town. I did spent a lot of money, but I did not want to sell myself short.

According to recent research, put Windows 10 on the MacBook and it will kick Dell's butt!

Ouch! Just purchased the Pro 4 but it has not yet arrived.... I am hoping that I have better luck than you did.

Windows? Why spend the extra $$$$ to buy a Mac just to run Windows?

That makes no sense at all. Better off getting one of these:

http://www.sagernotebook.com/customize.php?productid=820

You can get it with 32 gb ram (upgradeable to 64), a 512 gb m.2 SSD boot and system drive AND a 2 TB SSD storage drive, a 6th gen Intel i7 6820 HK cpu, and a wide gamut IPS display - total cost delivered is $3164. And you have 2.5 TB INTERNAL SSD storage with the option to add 2 more drives as discrete volumes or as RAID for boot and for Storage - faster and a better value than the Mac with more expansion capability.

I think you sold yourself a little short. For the same $$ you could have gotten more machine with more storage, and internal expansion for ram and hard drives. Or you could have configured it exactly like the macbook pro and saved some $$. And it runs Windows in native mode - :)
