I meant to write "lock my mirror up" not "lock my shutter up". My bad.

[quote=J Corley]Welcome Joyce to the HOG. Your last shot was kind of artistic. Suggest when you post to 1. Click on "store original". This allows a better download and we can check your camera settings to give advise. 2. Ask for advise every post. 3. Learn to see your camera settings on your computer. 4. Learn to understand to relationship of ISO, shutter speed, aperture. Good luck. David PS you can go back after you post and name or number each picture.
Joyce, hi nice work the last 2 images have great composition and look like they could be in an art show. Or duck stamp competition ,that being said, alot of birders shoot at an ISO of 400 to 800 and a shutter speed of 1000 - 1200/th of a second in manual mode with the camera in auto ISO ,which compensates for changing light conditions usually keeping you @ an f stop of 7.1....good luck..
Aloha Joyce and welcome to UHH. Mahalo for sharing your photos.
