I have both a pc and a mac, and I recently bought the Canon pro 100 printer.
I installed the pc software to the pc and set it for usb connection. Printer is working fine; however, I was not really pleased with the color and felt it may be better off the macbook pro retina. I installed the software for the mac and it does not print. Paper just goes right through.
I don't use my mac as much as my pc as I am just more familiar with the pc, and I have no idea what it wrong. I have also googled it.
One thing I noticed is that the pc software has a "Magic Garden" that I can pull up photo's into and print from there. I can also print from PS elements. It also has a Canon folder where I can adjust settings. The mac has neither of these that I can find.
Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you for your time.

What software did you install? And, what is the "host" you are printing from? What version of the Apple operating system are you using?

I installed the software that came with the Canon printer for Mac. I used the USB and connected it directly from the mac to the printer. Operating System is El Capitan v10.11.3
