In a couple recent topics, it has been suggested there are too many "issues" with Lightroom's current versions. Apparently, there are about 60,000 signed up as UHH members and millions of Lightroom users. Some have said they won't use it because it is too flaky.

I thought it would be fun and interesting to see how many find it reliable and how find it a failure. The point here is not whether or not you like the perpetual licence plan or the CC rental plan, but only if Lightroom "works reliably".

Would you please post a "Good" if it is reliable and a "Bad" if it is not reliable.

My post is "Good". It has been flawless.

I have the Lightroom stand a lone version 5.7.1. I think I started with 3.X. All the iterations I've had have been steady as a rock.
The only issues I've ever had are settings changed if I had to install on a newer computer, but nothing that couldn't have been adjusted or prevented me from using it.

Good for me. Rock solid. Running Win 7 Pro 64-bit with an i7 processor, 8GB RAM and a GPU.

The closest thing to an issue was a couple of versions ago one day the image in the Navigator did not match the one in the main Develop window. Got out, then back in and the problem has never recurred.

I have to agree that some folks (not me) definitely had troubles with one of the updates to LR 6, but that's been rectified. Hardware limitations (why I listed mine) may also play into the impression some people get. Other than that I think that people that just jump into the program without understanding the Catalog or Import process may stumble and come away with a bad experience.

Forces you to manually save your RAW files??? I don't think you CAN save a RAW file.
you import it....work on it....and export it when you want to "share" or print the image.

I know I'm confused! Let me explain my problem. I like DxO very much and have had a lot of success using it. DxO requires that I use a RAW file. What I have been doing is manually storing the RAW file on the same HD that Lightroom uses. I then process the RAW file in DxO using the lens specific "modules" that corrects for optic errors and does a great job removing noise. I then export the image as a Tiff from DxO into PScc where I manipulate and polish it further using PS plug-ins like Nik filters and many other great PS tools. After I get it the way like it I export a Tiff version that I store in Lightroom and while I'm at it, I store a temporary JPG version that I often share with UHH. If I go into Lightroom first I can no longer find the RAW image?! I suspect I'm doing something wrong because this seems stupid, even to me!

It's a good from me.

I used to use photoshop and swore by ACR.
When I subscribed to Adobe CC and got Lightroom as well I decided that as I'm paying for it, I might as well give it a go. After using ACR it did not take me long to get into Lightroom and it is now my preferred editing program.

The only issue I had was when I upgraded to Windows 10 and a member here told me to turn off my graphics card - problem solved but this had nothing to do with Adobe.

Did you IMPORT the original raw image into Lightroom? If not then it is not in the catalog.

I am new to LR and find the cataloging to be difficult to master but I understand that it's the user, not the program.

About the only real issues are caused by the operators themselves or computer hardware problems.

That includes me. I find it a steep learning curve. I think it's strange how it forces me to manually save my RAW files.

I find myself using DxO and PS.

That makes me wonder if you understand how Lightroom works since it most definitely does not force you to save your raw files manually, whatever that means.. In fact there is no save function at all in Lightroom. You must import your image file's information into Lightroom's catalog, if that is what you meant.

No I did not "IMPORT" it. I just crated a subfolder called RAW and manually saved it there. I don't think LR and DxO play nice with each other. At least they were not when I started this stupid way of storing my RAW files.

To tell the truth my way is so clumsy, that I have stopped using LR.

I hope someone can tell me a better way to make LR and DxO "play" together.
