D750 was returned in 14 days from Nikon of NY. The 14 days included in my shipping and their shipping back. Service completed. Thought some of the pictures taken earlier was my fault with the shadow effect. After I got it back I took a few shots immediately. Definitely was an improvement. Very fast turn around from Nikon. Looked like a brand new body. Got to give credit where credit is due.

I've had Nikon service my D700 a couple of times. The first under warranty, the second under the extended warranty from the first repair. So, all I paid for was shipping there. They offered excellent service, very good communication, and a turnaround time of 10 days.

I've also contacted them with technical questions. On one occasion I stumped the expert. He told me he'd get the information and call me back. I received a call back the next day with accurate and informative information.

What was wrong with it that it needed repair? I own one and I'm just curious...

I like the fact that they not only do the recall work but also check it over and make any adjustments that are necessary.

Maybe it would pay to send in a new body as received just for a personal tuneup after taking a 100 shots or so...wouldn't want to raise suspicion now would we. :)

Even with a new camera, I bet the paperwork would say they did something to it, but I wonder if "something" would be necessary.

What was the actual problem you were experiencing?

I'm no expert by any means -- I'm reading up on cameras because I really need one. I don't have a Dslr. There was a recall on the D750 because of a shadow effect. Not all the cameras were affected. If you go to their site I believe they have the serial numbers of the D750's that were affected.

I hear that....I took a Tape deck in for repair, (yes back in the 80's) which I wasn't to sure if it needed it or not, and I didn't really trust the only repair place nearby, but I did place a couple hot wax seals in places unsuspecting to the repair person, I got billed for items where the wax seals I put on would have to have been broken, they weren't. Got my money back and the place eventually went out of business.

Yes now I remember, mine wasn't one that was recalled.

Ditto. I just want to say that it was recall repair service.

I have always had good results from Nikon. NOTE when they repair you camera they also do a complete functional test and repair and or calibrate to bring it to FULL factory specifications. Once I really needed the camera back for a shoot and they sent it back next day air at their cost. I also found communication excellent as well. Don't be hesitant to list a date when you need it back. I found that helps and they never failed to meet my requests.

I sent my 200-500 lens for recall. It was returned repaired to me in a week. I send my cameras in for cleaning and firmware up dates every two years. I cannot get my computers to down load the firmware up dates.

First service recall was for a flare issue. My D750 was not one that service recall. Second was for the shadow effect that on mine was around the outer edges of the picture. At first I thought it was something I was doing and overlooked. Lot of my photos are out doors. Just thought it was from trees or the way I was standing when up in the mountains of NC. Read on UUE about the service recall so went to Nikon's web site, entered the serial number and the rest is history. Thought I was going to skate by that one. No complaints. Good service and was completed in a very surprising timely fashion.
