This one's a product of exposure bracketing, so there should be plenty of leeway whatever way you want to take it. It was overcast and cloudy when I took the shots, but where Scotland's west coast is concerned, there's always room for a bit of sunshine :-) . Feel free to edit it any way you think fit.

Jpeg only.

Hi, Joe. Just in case I didn't make it clear in the original post (which I've edited), you can have a go at editing the image if you like.

You said to feel free to edit so as you know by now I can't resist. I did quite a bit to this one. Opened in my favorite program Aurora HDR pro and did a one photo HDR. Did a small realistic HDR setting. Opened in photoshop and brought in a new sky. Opened shadows under boat. Removed noise on all but sky. Removed some HDR saturation in the grass area. Beautiful shot RG. Thanks for the opportunity to try some edits.

Nice edit, Jim-Pops. You did a good job of dealing with the mistiness, and full marks for realism, especially since you gave it some HDR treatment  .

Nice edit. I would have framed it differently so that the boat's stern instead of the bow would be closer to the edge. I think this scene would look very nice as a panorama.

Here is my try at your wonderful image. I have always wanted to visit there for the sights in my head are glowed by the writer Burns (I think)
"gulies, and goshties and long legged beasties, and things that go bump in the night"!!! Thanks for letting us play.

My take. Could not get anymore detail or brightness out of the hills on the right.

Lovely image, R.G. even if it was a dull day. No matter, perhaps a little sunshine can be introduced. Click download for best view.

Here's my go R.G.

My surname is MacKinnon and my father came from a croft in Tong, just outside of Stornoway, Isle of Lewis.

Spent a lot of time there over the years visiting family but sadly none are left now. A lot of nostalgia here for me.

Thanks for your post.
