Amy, I really like this capture. Usually owls look sleepy disinterested but this one is alert and focused which adds something to the shot.

She looked like a cluster of brush high up in the tree. So I checked it out through the camera and she was looking right at me. She flew and I followed her to three different locations, this being one of them. I thanked her and moved on, not wanting to stress her out. I believe in "get the shot and go". Here is another view. Thanks for the nice comment.

I love shooting them and have got some great shots like this and in pairs.

I drove over the Monocacy twice yesterday. Were these taken up close to Frederick, or down towards Dickerson and the Potomac ? Beautifully done !!!
