I see that this is being offered for $9.99. Has anyone tried it yet and if so what are the opinions concerning it? Is it a stand alone product or does it plug in to Photoshop?

Topaz Remask is a good plug-in that works well and is relatively easy to use. There are many videos on Youtube and on Topaz site that show how to use it generally and on difficult subjects such as hair or small branches. Note - it is listed as 64 bit only.
It is a plug-in for Photoshop, Elements or Lightroom but can also be used alone via a free program from Topaz called Fusion Express (Win or Mac)- lower RHS of Downloads page:

No such thing as Remask Prime in Topaz Labs. If there was it won't be $9.99.

Correct, I have the latest. It is Remask 5. BTW, whenever Topaz updates their plugins, the updates are available at no cost.

Mainoak - I just downloaded Topaz Remask Prime from the app Apple App Store. I did a 30 day trial of the Topaz Remask and liked, but the $69.99 price was a little much for my infrequent use. The Remask Prime works just like the trial version,but is a stand alone app. It does not work as a plug-in. This web link to Topaz explains the difference in the two apps.
