The weather was miserable today. It rained nearly all day.

The rain stopped just after the FedEx truck dropped of the lens. I had to try it.

So far it is very satisfying. Here is a sample.

I used a SB800 with Better Beamer.

Please approximate your working distance for each of these two captures, so we can educate others as to the proper use of this speedlight attachment. I would like to use your photos in an FAQ about Better Beamer.
Please provide a properly exposed photo of your camera & long lens, with speedlight & Better Beamer.

Excellent set, Joe, but doubt that all the credit goes to the lens!

Douglass,

The Cardinal is about 16-18 feet; the Grackle about 22-24 feet. Both are cropped.

I have several old images of my camera and lenses showing the Better Beamer. The Nikon lenses are 300 f2.8 and the 500 f4 P, the latter I no longer have.

If you want an image of the camera used for the photos I can do that later today.
