Your lucky shot.
I'm sure we all have had the experience of being in a situation where it was very difficult to get every thing just right for a great pic. yet, some how you did it. Call me lucky. Here is my lucky. On an Amtrac train headed west out of Denver, I was trying to get pictures of interesting subjects such as landscape, mountains etc..really anything. Using my SX20 Canon and shooting thru the window, nothing seemed worth keeping, especially the guy by the river who Mooned" the train. I see this little church coming up and I get determined tho' the train was moving pretty fast. I took the shot and it was the best of the trip. Call me lucky. How about yours?
Small church.
Eagle feeding beside the road - she flew up into a tree, I stalked until I could see her - branch in the way, dropped to a knee, and because of the low light, I had to handhold at 1/15 sec at 30X zoom - not good, but acceptable.
Machine Fire at the public high school last year. Had to keep moving around to get different photos and to try to not get to much smoke in me and was hoping to get one real nice shot and this just happened to be the best one I got so I was extremely pleased. It was even published the next day on the front page of the local newspaper.
