From another thread , David's response on the status of his book.

My a6000 book listing replaced another book listing for a different camera, and they carried over some of the previous description. I've been trying to get it changed, but the publisher is undergoing a business reorganization and has laid off the relevant staff members in the interim, so nothing is getting done. The reorganization has also put my a6000 and a7r/a7 books on hold for an unknown period of time. Both have been finished and ready to go to the printer for some time. But I guarantee neither of them will be available before the end of the year. This pains me, because the a6000 and a7r have become my dual "main cameras" for the foreseeable future, at least until an a7000 and/or a "Pro" FE mount camera become available. I'm extremely excited about both of those, as well as my current E-mount cameras. The current FE "holy trinity" (16-35mm, 24-70mm, and 70-200mm) lenses are perfect for both cameras (along with the E mount 16-70mm Zeiss and some earlier APS-C lenses for the a6000.)
I would like to hear some ideas . If any one will send me a link to a PDF file on this camera it would be great. I have tried in the past with out any real results. The camera is a real iritation. This is the first and last Sony camera I will buy. I will have too continue with my 5D and other canons.

Wall: not really clear what it is you're asking. Could you restate the question?
I have been told on this site that there is a Sony site with a pdf of an instruction book. I would like to down load the file and print it. I have not been able to find it.
I pasted in some inf. from DP Review from David Bush. Probably adding to the confusion. The book was listed on Amazon then vanished. I think it wont be around any time soon.
All that I have been able to find is a Sony site that allows clicking on questions and having information pop up. It is a pain to use. Not some thing that can be printed out.
There are many that love this camera, I am not one of them. It is supplied with no real instructions. I wanted a camera that was lighter than my Canon 5D and L lens to walk around with. The Sony has found a place on the shelf.

I suggest getting a copy of 'David Busch's Sony Alpha a6000/ILCE-6000 Guide to Digital Photography'. Unlike the Sony Handbook and some other independent guide books that merely run through the menu options, David's book goes a step or two further to suggest ways that the options can be applied to your picture taking. Unfortunately, as I mentioned on a recent post, the book is out of print and even used hard copies sell for more than the actual camera, but is available as a Nook e-book on Amazon for a very worth while $23.09.
One great feature of the A6000 is the eye focus option. However, this feature can't be found in the regular menus and has to be customized to one of the buttons. David's book can walk you though setting up this fantastic feature.
I always use David Busch's books for every camera I own. They're the best guide books I've found.

The information you have may be outdated. I've owned a copy of this (David Busch's) book for several months, although it does appear to be difficult to find in stock.
Gary Friedman's book is a bit different yet equally useful and instructive, in my view:
http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Guide-Sonys-A6000-Camera/dp/1312318791
Here are resources I have found over time as I was getting familiar with my A6000 (love it) ...
http://simp.ly/publish/MRscRN.
I have not reviewed each one, but when I search and locate a resource, I scan them briefly and if they appear useful, I collect it in SimpleNote for future review.

I do like the camera, but unless you download the pdf manual from the website, the manual that comes with it is garbage.
I had one and took it on a trip to the Mediterranean. Got a bunch of pretty good images despite experiencing some focus-hunting problems. I sold it on return, but recently bought another one. They have upgraded the firmware on the new one and it doesn't seem to have the focus problem.

There is a lot there. It can be confusing, especially to those of us used to Canik menus.
http://static.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/94686.pdfhttp://support.sony-asia.com.edgesuite.net/consumer/IM/4532055111.pdfHere are two sites for the official manual
The Gary Friedman book is not bad if you get the paper version. The Kindle version doesn't have the index or TOC which makes it very difficult to use. On the other hand, it is a pretty comprehensive book.
Amazon is showing the book at $ 500. Seems a little steep. See link below
My significant other is now going in circles with a credit card problem. Humans are hard to find when you call in. just a computer to talk to. Is this the way things are now. I Bought this camera thinking I would enjoy it. The joy part has been slow coming.
