Thanks for your comment, trigger finger. My Coton may enjoy snooping around this old farmhouse (they are as curious as cats), so maybe I'll take him (and his brother) with me on my next trip to the country.

Great shot but so sad to see such a once lovely home looking so deserted and forlorn. :(

Nope, not crazy... crazy comes from looking at the flat and empty for days and weeks and the wind doesn't stop... ever. Of course it's alright if the family is healthy and the crops are doing well...
Nice image... reminds me of many things...

Thank you for your comment, Bob. I wonder about those same things when I run across these old places. I always wonder what happened to the families who once lived there. Sometimes, I can actually form a picture or scene in my head about activity that may have occurred there. Oh, oh! hope I'm not coming across as crazy.

Nice work. I really like the somewhat foreboding atmosphere.

very well done. Especially the foreboding look of the sky. I also like the falling rain gutter (IF that what it is). I wonder what stories this farmhouse has to tell.

Very nice ... I love these old homesteads that the prairies are littered with. Wish I had more time to go out shooting.

Saw your note/reply to another person about maybe including a bit more of the prairie ... it does seem like a bit more context would be good, especially to the left side of the frame given your vantage point, but not so much that you lose the wonderful detail of the structure. A "delicate balance" for lack of a better term :)

I don't think it's falling; it looks like a downspout to me, directed away from the porch.

CD, I love this shot!! The composition, details, colors are amazing!! If only walls could talk, can you imagine what this house would tell!!
