What would you know of truth, justice and the American way? As I recall you are the most mendacious creep on this entire forum. You of stolen valor with your fake military record. Remember when ( I'm certain you do)
Gitzo offered to show his DD 214 if you would. You refused. You never would substantiate your false claims of being the great American hero. Shameful creep.

In case anyone missed by earlier point, CPB funds PBS radio and TV with Federal taxes and is thus very liberal. Watch and listen to its programming. With so many radio and TV channels available to hear and watch these days, there is no longer any need for commercial public broadcasting as in the old days when only NBC, CBS, and ABC were available for us. The liberals won't let it end.

no, i was being sarcastic. i like fox news

.. and the fact that Fox News fought and won a lawsuit allowing it specifically to lie to its audience does not influence your thoughts about Fox News? Or is it that you'd rather be lied to in order to avoid facts?

You don't know who to believe anymore.

This is a seven minute video. Quite interesting implications.

This is what comes up:

"New Tech Shows Why You Can'..." This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Stanford University.

Well anyway the old rule of thumb is "don't believe anything your hear and only 1/2 of what you see." It's still true.

Well, say that one of Crest's products is found to be contaminated in some way or perhaps one of Crest's factories is found to have contaminated a water supply. If Crest has been donating to a network, that network might just decide that story is not news-worthy.

Or, they will report it but it will not be a lead story. It may be buried either right after a commercial or at some point where, statistically, they have temporarily lost viewers. In the newspapers (where I worked as a photography stringer, they would bury the story in the middle of the newspaper and never on the front page (or if it was on the front page it was below the fold). Their favorite burial spot was the inside page before the classifieds and well away from the funnies.

Hardly, other stations would carry it. Ever notice how all the news stations carry the same stories. If a station decided not to cover the story it would become a story!

News is a competitive business. Nationally and Internationally it seems that the headlines are the same. Burssels was the lead story world wide.

There is a pretty solid wall between editorial and sales/advertising.

Not necessarily true. For instance, say Pepsi was a huge advertiser. They are NOT just a huge advertiser on ABC, their advertising dept. will make sure that they are also big on CBS, NBC, Fox, and anywhere else they can get blocks of time. Not to mention those multi-million dollar ads on the Super Bowl, during the Olympics, etc. Do you really thing the money people in any of the networks, whos jobs depend on the financial bottom line are going to be hugely critical of them? They may report the story but it will be a highly sanitized version of the truth. Candidates for President are the same way, a Democratic leaning news source / publication will report the Democratic contestants completely different than they do the Republicans (CNN vs Fox) where a Republican leaning media will report the Republican candidates and officials in the best possible light and the others not so much. For a long time, the media tended to be extremely liberal (hence the reason that publication studies were and are called Liberal Studies or Liberal Arts). This is not a shot at either political group but stating the way journalist are taught in college and high school for that matter. I am not saying one is right and one is wrong, I just saying the media in the US is just as capable of slanting a story as anywhere else in the country.

Time to go old school and get the news on public radio.

Are you kidding?? You think you get truthful news on public radio ?? That is a laughable JOKE. National public radio is as far left as it can get, and still gets tax dollars. I am very interested in Where do people get their News, And where do they get their TRUTH??? But, then, you're right "OLD SCHOOL" has always been notoriously. Left-preaching. When I graduated from high school, SCHOOL was PRO-DEM. College was even worse! I don't recommend getting you news from public NEWS. RJM

NO-ONE has yet to even suggest that all the MEDIA theses days, are owned by entirely TOO FEW mega rich people. We get what they want us to get. You must always ask yourself, from what SLANT is this information coming from. RJM
