You have not followed the whole painful thread.
In a thread you do not Only reply to that of the OP, but Also to that of that which has been posted by the other HOGS who have posted, within That given thread. This is what I did. This is standard protocol.

Standard protocol would be to read the previous posts and try to stay on topic. Variations are often referred to as hijacking when they persist and vary from the OP's subject. Obviously you were very selective in your reading and didn't sense what had been alluded to several times. I do appreciate your candor and welcome to the Forum. :-)

Dave, I've followed you extensively, and you have never seemed to be the pathetically nit-picky type...this thread has hardly been "Hijacked" and I was surely not involved in it---I answer any question of any posted reply at will. AL.
I'm sorry I am causing all this confusion. Now I have an additional question. If I would go with the 5xxx series cameras versus the 7xxx series cameras would I be giving up auto focus lenses, etc. I an more of a novas photographer, but because of my extensive work in Photoshop before retiring I still like quality photos.
Thanks.

Chief--I don't think it's so much the camera the images came from as it is the lenses used on that camera. The D5xxx series has essentially the same 24mp sensor as the D7100, so your images will be pretty much as good. The D5xxx has fewer features and capabilities as the D7100 or D7200, and requires the use of lenses marked AF-S. Also, the D5xxx series employs a pentamirror viewfinder, whereas the D7100 and D7200 have a pentaprisim viewfinder, which is larger and a bit brighter than the pentamirror.
The D5500, for example, has a swiveling rear LCD display and you can make your settings on the screen. The D7100 and D7200 have programmable buttons and controls can be set in the menus or you can use buttons and control wheels.
Is one better than the other? None of them are bad, some just have more features than others. All produce great images. Once you take them, you can do whatever you want in PhotoShop or whatever image editing program you use. I don't believe you would go wrong with any of those. I hope some of this helps answer your questions.

You would be getting the same fine quality photo's from either camera.
The D7XX camera's have auto focus motor's, built into their bodies, so that they can use Nikkor lenses, current. or. older, that don't have focus motor's built into the lenses. While the 5XXX and 3XXX series camera's, do not have the built-in auto-focus motors, and are limited to using, Nikkor AF-S, Auto-Focus lenses, to perform auto-focus, yet, you could still use those lenses, without the focus motors, and manually focus them.
This is not a significant issue, as most all of the currently available lenses, are AF-S, and have, the built-in, auto-focus motors.

Whoa boys.... feels like I stumbled on to a Trump vs Cruz tweet/retweet. At least have the decency to post some photos like those two did!

Not able to follow the whole thread, huh? Decent of you.....
I don't have many photos to post. This one was taken by the small Canon on the Alaska cruise. This is why I want to get a better camera for the Panama cruise.
