My wife has an sx 50 and a sx 60...her daughter has a nikon 900...shot shoulder over shoulder I couldnt tell much difference in IQ

The big advantage of the canons is that they shoot in raw.

There's a few, Sony has the RX10 with gets good reviews. But it only has 200mm of zoom. You wont find a super zoom range on a 1" sensored camera. You must keep in mind....a so called 1" sensor is not even close to being 1", they are roughly 13.2mm x 8.8mm which in good old American measure is .52" x .35" (that's still pretty small).

Hi James... THANKS for your Comment; GOOD NEWS: (as I just said to Ranjan [above]: I just 'You Tubed' the new Nikon DL Series w/ 1" Sensor (Especially the 24-500 model); I think I'm in LOVE ! !

Nikon DL 24-500 to be released in june

Yes. I read about this upcoming camera just yesterday. It looks impressive as a fixed lens camera. Price $1000.00. It may be worth it though.

My big issue with the Nikon P900 is that it only shoots jpegs. Nikon left Raw out of it as a marketing ploy. A camera this expensive and large should shoot Raw.

At least they added it to the new B700.
Still missing an accessory shoe for flash, though.

Hi JPL... THANKS for your RESPONSE; ...Are you aware of a Super-Zoom bridge with a 1" (or larger) sensor?

Depends on what you call super zoom. But there are many manufacturers offering bridge cameras with 1" sensor.
Sony has the RX10 with about 8x zoom
Leica has the V-Lux with 16x zoom
Canon has the G3X with 25x zoom
Panasonic has the FZ1000 with 16x zoom
Nikon is coming soon with their version.

And if you want more than those cameras can offer you can always have a look at the Nikon 1 system. That is the original 1" sensor camera system with interchangable lenses that can go from very wide to very long plus you can use lot of other lenses with adapters, though only Nikon lenses with autofocus ability.

I have an FZ1000, but just got it and have not used it much yet. It has a 1" sensor and a 24-400 lens, but has a 2x crop sensor, so the effective range is 24-800. An 1" sensor is 4 times bigger than what is in an SX50, which I have and still love, but it is in the center counsel of one of our cars.
The Nikon DL24-500 has a 1" sensor and a lens that goes from the 24 to 500, but has a 4X crop sensor effectively zooming from 24 to 2000. I would assume I Q would drop off at 2000, but how many pictures does anyone take at that range. I am not smart enough to know this, but I would think the 24-500 is the best travel camera at this time.

HI LFarmer... I DEFINITELY agree with you at THIS time; ..HOWEVER, did you notice that as soon as Nikon announced their DL, THEN Canon 'suggested' that they had filed a Patent for a 100X Optical lens...PLUS the announcement that they were going to bring out the Successor to the SX60HS; ...but NEVER said that the 100X Would DEFINITELY be used on the SX70HS. it's an OLD marketing 'maneuver' but usually effective in holding OFF purchases.

I recently bought a Nikon P900. I did a focus test at full 2000 mm zoom and was amazed at the lens quality and sharpness. I just finished a vaction to Colorado and New Mexico. The P900 delivered exceptional results with great focus and lens sharpness. I am gong to post some pics if I can. I am very happy with the P900.
