OK So Start the school day 1 hour later. No reason for chilluns to get up so early anyway

But then you'd have a problem coordinating that with Mom and Dad's work schedules.

As far as I am concerned, that hour lost early this morning was the one I had planned to use at the gym! Also, why not spring forward at 4 pm on a Friday afternoon, when most folks could enjoy it? It's hell getting up in the middle of the night to change the clocks! LOL. Oh well . . . .

You can just change your clocks before you go to bed in the few short hours before the change.

I was raised in rural Missouri. When we went on DST, the old folks around had many complaints. The best one was a neighbor who said her hens had stopped laying.

When I was a child, Indiana was in the Central Time Zone. Then, it was decided that we should observe DST. Then, we were moved to the ETZ with no DST. Then, we followed along and observed EST DST. This puts us in the mess we are now in, with double DST, if you will, considering that we were in the CTZ in the '40s and '50s when I was growing up.

We do still have a few counties near Evansville and a few others near Chicago that do not observe DST. The rest of us have to buckle under to the doctors and lawyers in the legislature who want daylight to play golf in the evening.

I remember those days well, unless we went to Ohio our clocks didn't change. Wife has family down in Gibson County, when we go down there we're either an hour behind or ahead of them. Wish the state would pick one or the other and stay with it. Their biggest mistake was giving the counties the choice of which time zone they wanted.

I beg to disagree, having grown up in Boston. As a student, I appreciated the time change at both ends. However, there is at least one state I know of, as I lived there in 1987-88, that's on EST the whole year through: Indiana! Perhaps, boberic, you'd be happier there. 😜😀👍🏻😎

Indiana has two time zones.

I agree. I love the extra hour of sunlight at the end of the day.

There are people pushing bills to change New England to Atlantic Time Zone. I have no problem with that

Given that everyone seems to dislike 'Day light savings time". I would like to hear from anyone that can give a present day reason to continue to change the time twice a year. Maybe congress can do something that every one, except for that always against every thing group, and we will be able to make a positive comment as to their job.

I hate the change to and from daylight savings time. The original purpose was to save energy during WW2. But the war is over. What's more the energy savings is negligible. We should choose one and be done with it. we do not increase the hours of daylight. Definitely pick one and stick with it. I was traveling in the midwest a few years ago, and the time changed from one county to another in a certain state. If we're going to keep it, every device that shows the time should automatically adjust itself to the correct time.

I very much appreciate DST, and hope they continue it. I love sitting outside enjoying the myself, while it's practically still light at 9 p.m.

I read a news story that in the week after the change to Daylight Savings, there is a 23% increase in heart attacks and strokes.
