Moving eBooks from a PC to an iPad

I have a number of eBooks I've downloaded from various photography sites. I'd like to view them on my iPad, particularly when I'm travelling. Any tried and true methods to do what I'm trying to do?

Thanks.

I think you just need to move the eBook file to the iPad. As long as you have an app on the iPad to open that file format, it should work.

I've only tried pdf files. I use the free program "Dropbox" on both PC and iPad to move the file. Once the file downloads to the iPad in Dropbox, I click on the file then select Open With and Copy to iBooks. The file is now permanently on the iPad in my iBooks library. I assume other eBook formats would work similarly.

I have an Android tablet and I just hook the tablet to the computer and copy the files (PDF) to the tablet in the directory (folder) I want them. I do have the PDF reader on the tablet. I imagine it would work with .DOC and .TXT files also if you had Word type program on the tablet.

Download Goodreader. Open iTunes on the pc and drag files into Goodreader. Once you sync, they will be there.

Good luck with that. I have never been successful doing what you want to do. I'm hoping someone on here can steer both of us in the right direction.

Lots of good ideas--at least a good place to start. Thanks to all.

Assuming they are in PDF format, or some such, set up a Dropbox account and copy them there. That makes them available, despite the device you are on.

That works for some, I find this morning, but some of the eBooks in .pdf format are too large and my email server bounces them back. I'll keep working on "the ultimate solution."

As usual, the Hogs are a great help. Emailing the eBook/pdf to yourself from the eBook itself works if the file isn't too large. Open the attachment on the iPad, and them select "Open in iBooks." It's now saved to the device. If the file is too large to email, you can use Dropbox. As before, once the file is open on the iPad, select "Open in iBooks" and, voila--there it is. You can the go back to delete the file from Dropbox so you don't waste space.

Thanks for the assist.

I don't have an easy reply but I've been successful in getting PDFs and Kindel stuff onto my iPad. But each time I do it it's a relearning experience so I can't be very specific. However, I know that I get the book into iTunes and then connect the iPad to the computer and then synch it with the iTunes. Probably not much help but maybe a direction to try.

I have a large collection of books on Photography in PDF. Ibooks works well for reading both PDF and Epub on my Ipad. I use a third party utility called Syncios to transfer files from my PC to the Ipad.
