Interesting and ancient geological features... volcano remnants exposed as the result of a glacial mass blocking what is now the Missouri River from its previous northeasterly path to the Great Lakes regions and instead directing it southwest and washing away what covered up Square Butte and Shonkin Sag.

I love this image! Wonderful sense of place, and the b&w adds to the mood of harsh desolation.

No, not stitched - taken with a 17-35 at 35mm - though stitching does sometimes come in handy and I do use it.
