Word and the £ sign. Help!

You can try using Insert to put the £ in your document then highlight it and do Ctrl + c to put it on the Clipboard. Then you can do Ctrl + v whenever you need the £ if you don't need the Clipboard for anything else. That's how I put it here...
Looking at Word 2010. Find Insert tab, then at far right of menu see Symbol square and click on it. You will see the pound sign at upper left corner. Click on this pound sign. £ Write a sentence as example: £159.
