use of teleconverters

Saw the discussion on the "use of teleconverters" and I am wanting to get a 2X teleconverter for my Nikon 70-210 f4-5.6 D lens on my D610 but I don't see it listed at all on the Nikon compatability list. Any suggestions?

I have a 16-80mm and 24-70mm zoom, I gave thought t0 a 1.4 tc . some of my lenses wouldn't take them. in the end I decided I didn't need one on my short zooms.
