Well - maybe it's a male - but it got your attention. Afternoon at the Viera Wetlands finds the birds settling down - and bathing. This GBH was not about to let my voyeurism interfere with her bath.

Very nice. It's difficult to sneak up on these bird anyway, but to catch one taking a bath is a bonus.

Thanks, Vicki. The Wetlands is amazing in part because so many people walk on the roadways (with their cameras!) that the birds have much less fear than in many other places. The only other place that competes is a fisherman on the beach with a big bait bucket next to them - that always seems to attract a great blue that will come and stand very close, apparently waiting for the occasional bait fish thrown its way!

The only reason it got my attention was because I wanted to see what kind of bird it was. I knew it was going to be a bird splashing around in a bird bath. Kind of like the time when Vicki posted some photos with the title of "Naked ladies". I knew those pictures were going to be of the flowers since I had the same flowers growing in my backyard when I was living in SoCal. She didn't fool me and you didn't either. Sorry.

BTW, nice photos.

Steve, Love looking at the last image after the bath. Have fun with your voyeurism. You live in a great area to photograph birds.

Thanks. Yes, it is, Doc - the density of birds is amazing and the fact that they are used to people walking around really allows you to get closer than usual.

Thanks, Stan. It is really great - one reason I moved out of the frozen north!
