I never much like the X-Files when it was on for nine seasons, but with the new limited series, I thought I'd try again. I began with the first episode, and I'm into the fourth season now. Some of the shows are so-so, but most are entertaining. I like the idea that anything can happen - like most sci-fi. The series goes back 23 years, and it's interesting seeing actors on show who were so much younger back then. When I finish all nine seasons, I'll watch the new ones - and probably the movie(s).
The theme music is excellent.

Do you WANT to believe? Quote from Mulder.
New shows are way too far fetched and scripts are childish.
Very disappointed.

I was surprised at how young they looked in the first season.
I agree the scripts are at times childish..you would never see this in the original series
but the recent episode about the monster that turns into a human..that was pretty creative and entertaining...the end of the show (last 10 mins of dialog) was classic xfiles and loved it.
aged..yeah they aged..but not as much I have!
was glad to see the smoking man in the opening show....lol
Watched em all... and enjoy them even now. Scully is, and always has been a fox, and Fox Mulder is "REAL". Have enjoyed all their other acting endeavors in varying degrees.
Do I WANT to believe? Screw that, I DO believe. That's why I live in a Van down By the River!!! Sightings are most often over water.

Oh yeah, I believe... Did not watch the X-Files first two seasons until friends of ours (my wife) said we must watch it. So we watched half the season and loved it so we then immediately started with the very first episode of the first season and never ever missed an episode for all nine seasons, and not to mention every movie. Man when this new season started with that X-Files theme at the beginning and when we cranked up the sound on our surround system, man it was AWESOME. The first of the new series was great, the second was a mixed bag...it was kind of a spoof on the X-Files itself with references to past episode and a tribute to Kim Manners which we think was great being Kim passed when the series was off the air. We are forever hooked!!!
I am now on season 3, episode 20. Enjoying it all over again.

Have to agree with you. The actors are great but the writing is bad!
