Just one of the many lighthouses on Lake Michigan.
Just a little to much empty foreground for me. Quick crop and you have a really great photograph. jmo. djt

Sorry, I keep forgetting to check the silly thing. Will repost a second edit soon
I posted another shot of the same image with djk idea. Because..........I had trouble with noise with this one.
I made corrections in LR. I have PSCC but haven't mastered any of it. I've also played with idea of getting a plugin to specifically combat the problems. Anybody with any ideas??

Topaz DeNoise works super and is fairly simple to use. If I can do it....?
  Oh., I also like this crop much better. Leading lines are emphasized, aimed at your subject. Did you use a star effect, or were all the lights captured as shown?

The effect is caused by using a AV of f/16 or smaller. I'm not techie enough to do PP.

If you shoot raw, Dxo Prime noise reduction does a fantastic job, better than Topaz IMHO.
