It's quite a study in architecture, style, beauty, and I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't a little competition thrown in for good measure. Each conveys such a different feel.
Thanks for looking in and posting, ted.

I love all the texture and the variances of each door. Almost like there is a competition for "the most beautiful" or "interesting". I love the wood door with the stone buildings and metal "fan arch"; and then many are decorated with bright colors or added flowers to add to the visual pleasure.

Thanks for posting these doors. Looking at the cathedral doors/entry, I can hardly imagine the talent and skill of those who worked to create them. Magnificent!

When I see things like this, I too often wonder about all those people that did such incredible work. Life was pretty harsh back then, and so many were just 'used' for their skill by those that put them to work. Wouldn't it be interesting to be able to go back in time for a few days?
Thank you for your stopping by to post and encourage some thinking. Have a good day.

Thank you, Dr. Symeonoglou, for adding so much to my post - I do appreciate your insights and comments. I guess one could do quite an extensive bit of research and resulting publication of the doors of great/famous buildings around the world. It would be a most interesting treatise.
Hope that things are going well for you in Greece!

Happy 50th anniversary and happy Valentine's Day!

The amazing thing about it is that there were so many more that I didn't post and all those I didn't photograph. I don't think I've ever seen so many different doors so close together.
Thank you for stopping by to look and post - have a great day,
ted.
