It is my well bourbon as well, the bottle I most frequently reach for, also.

However, be forewarned, they have recently released a new bourbon, called "DOUBLED OAKED". After the initial maturing, they re-barrel the bourbon in a second new oak barrel for an second maturing term. I tried it at the dustillery, and all I can say is that I rescued a bottle and is is now in my bourbon cabinet.

Try it, I suspect you may like it.

Gentlemen, I have been a Bourbon drinker for well over fifty (50) years. Some are GREAT, some are good. For the last fifteen (15) years I have been conducting scientific experiments, attempting to find a "bad" bourbon. So far I have been unsuccessful! I have expanded my research into the field of Irish Whiskey, and American Rye Whiskey. I have conducted many experiments with the same results. "There ain't no Bad Bourbon, Rye, nor Irish Whiskey." Well............, enough of that, let me get back to my experiments!

I have never been fond of Ten High Bourbon. Some say it is now a blend. But the rest are good. Some of course smoother than others.

Sir, while I have learnt to NEVER argue bourbon, unless one can taste test at the same time, in the case I feel the strong need to warm you that there is, at least one, BAD Bourbon.

Several years ago, while in Texas, I found a survival kit of plastic packed bourbon. Distilled and "bottled" by a company called "Pocketshot" out of San Jose California. While it might suffice in case of a snake bite, having tried it, I assure you it must be a extremely large, extra venous snake.

Apologies for Image Quality, but this stuff deserves no better.

Thanks for the info, I will look for it. Also for the bourbon aficionados out there, check out Basil Hayden bourbon.

Thank you posting images of a new future destination. :)
I have been a Bourbon taster for at least 40 years and for the last 15 or so was devoted to Wild Turkey 101. A bit harsh but if it was good enough for John Wayne it was certainly all right by me. Then, about 2 months ago my wife bought a bottle of bourbon for me because, just like a woman, she liked the label. A Buffalo. This nectar of the gods is called "Buffalo Trace". Long story short, I have switched labels (Sorry John)

Our fine friends in Frankfort who distills Buffalo Trace does 3 things extremely well.

1. Buffalo Trace
2. Runs an excellent, enjoyable, tasty, and educational tour
3. Produces a Bourbon Cream that turn coffee from a life need into a true pleasure. If you get a chance, try it, and send your apologies to the Irish Whiskey Distilleries that make Irish Whiskey Creams, for you will never again be satisfied by that stuff.

Kentucky has started a Bourbon Trail, from distillery to distillery for tours, a great adventure! Slowly making my way along it.

Oh my! I wasn't aware of their creams. This will have to be looked into. Post Haste! :)
I also like another of their collection. Eagle Rare. Basically a 10 year old version of Buffalo Trace

Booker's probably has the most a__ kick of any bourbon i have tried. Very high proof that varies based on taste, but you can be sure it is somewhere between 120 and 130 proof. For the Irish, there is nothing like Tullamore Dew. Smooooooth.
