I need a new speed light.
Ive watched all the videos, Ive read reviews, I searched
yn565ex here on UHH.
The reviews are excellent for this light. ( I hate reviewers they usually tell you how great something is and they only use it for a few minutes)
There was someone here that had a problem with the light but the company was going to replace it, but the review was from a few years ago.
So has the company made a new model? If so what # is it? if not who has been using this light and how do you like it?
The light will go on a Nikon d810.... if not this light which one should you suggest. I have around $100 to spend.
I have 2 of the yn568ex ( a newer model) $101.00 on Amazon. I use them on a d7200 and have, so far. had very good luck with them. They work well both manually and when using iTTL.
I have had my yn565ex for over 2 years and my yn568ex for over a year with no significant problem from either flash.
The 568ex currently sells for about $100 and has High Speed Sync capability that the 565ex does not.
For only a $20 price difference, I would recommend the 568ex.
The 568ex is the latest Nikon flash from Yongnuo. For some reason YN produces Nikon compatible units at a MUCH slower rate than they do for Canon.
Its an excellent flash.

a typo it was the 568ex I was looking at $101.00 Adorama is out, so b&h I guess. Or I could save $5.00 and go to ebay and pray it even arrives let alone works
Why so negative about a product you have never used.. I have 3 Yongnuo flashes and they work flawlessly. You could pay 4 times as much for a Nikon flash if you like..

I think he was talking about it being shipped from China.
You might be better off with the Yongnuo Speedlite YN600EX-RT for $120.00. Radio and Optical master.

That's a Canon piece, looking for Nikon.
I have a couple YN568EX and YN560IV. They are very well made and the actual electrical design seems well done too (I have taken them apart to investigate).
I have also measured the optical output waveforms and they seem to be on par with my SB-800 except under High Speed Sync. Here the waveform is not as uniform as the SB-800 with regard to exposure details (This mode uses a different exposure technique). They also seem to emit more electrical ringing & noise than the SB-800, but I have seen no issues with this interfering with RF triggers or other things.
Best,
Mike
Be sure to check if the flash you choose has a socket for power pack if you use one;some of Yongnuo's don't.

Good point. I never use power packs so didn't think of it.

Think about using Amazon. As long as the item is "fulfilled by Amazon", you deal with them if there is a probelm...not with the company from which it is purchased.

If it makes a difference in the decision making process, the 568ex does not support a external battery pack, but the 565ex does. The 568ex also has what appears to be a 2.5mm female pc sync port instead of the older standard female port used on previous models. (My user manual does not specify its size and the 3.5mm cords I have are too large)
