The Wheels Through Time motorcycle museum in Maggie Valley, North Carolina. A highly interesting place to visit if you are ever in the area.

It's nice that so many businesses and individuals are preserving these old machines.

Thanks Jerry. I agree. This place has a very large building full of old motorcycles, racing motorcycles, a few beautifuly restored vintage autos and even a motorcycle ridden by Evel Knievel.

Dale Walksler (if still alive) owns this Museum, He used to own "Dale's Harley Davidson" in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. His dealership had a lot of old bikes and memorabilia then, but not as much as in the NC Museum...

Great post--thanks! I will be riding my motorcycle right through there this summer and will be sure to stop.

Also, if you're ever in the midwest, on old Route 66 in Oklahoma there is a very similar motorcycle museum based in an old filling station. It's probably not as complete as this one but it's worth a look. The guys who own it use it as sort of a hangout so it's very informal and fun.

I'm often in OK by car. Do you recall a town name where this is located? Thanks.

We got to meet the owner, I don't recall his name. He took us through his workshop where he does a lot of the restoration and showed us around.

Dang, I knew someone would ask me that. I'll check with my sister as she lives close by and should be able to tell me.

These are the directions my sister gave me--hope they help. I looked at the web site for the one in NC and the OK one seems smaller but it does have some cool bikes and is interesting.

It is right outside of Warwick, Ok. which is on 66 just south west of Chandler by about 8 miles. Chandler is north of Meeker about 12 miles or North of Shawnee Interstate 40 about 20 miles on 18. It is East of Oklahoma City about 20 miles.
