Actually, global warming in the Pacific has a lot to do with the winter weather patterns that we're getting.

That is an El Nino, it comes and goes in cycles. Alternating with La Nina when that part of the Pacific is cooler than usual.

Cooling my heels, no blizzard here (Florida) but still 'cooler'...

I remember when we were in NE...
Me too, the blizzard of 78 and many other snow storms. We've become snowbirds and this is winter 2 without snow. It is cold here in central Florida, I've worn a winter coat and knit NE Patriots hat while walking my 2 dogs at 7:30 AM Dont' have to shovel cool weather and that's a plus. :)

You're right, robert, but from what I understand, El Nino is getting warmer.

Some times it is warmer, some times cooler. And we haven't the foggiest what the extremes are. Records don't go back very far when compared to the planet's climate cycles.

Many of those people pontificating about it operate as if what they can remember is everything.

Take hurricanes, they went on about Katrina being the "worst", it was bad, but not the worst.
1900 Galveston Texas was basically destroyed and 8000+ died.
1928 one hit Florida and killed 2500+
Those were both Cat 4s.

And compared to some not in the US even Galveston looks mild.
Bhola Cyclone (Their name for the same type of storm.) hit East Pakistan (Bangladesh today) and India's West Bengal State on November 12, 1970 and killed an estimated 300,000 to 500,000. They don't know, census info for the area was poor and entire towns and regions just basically turned into swamps where no one even made a serious effort to count the dead. Just estimate, so many towns and villages gone at so many people per each.

We haven't had a blizzard yet this year. When we do we usually shovel... and shovel.....and shovel. Sidewalks, decks, roof. Over and over so the snow doesn't get unmanageable. Oh, and we plow too. Then we go to bed.

Coolin' my heels because our hardwood floor is a bit chillier than usual. We're getting weather in the 40's during the days and 30's at night here in Dallas with this cold snap going on. Once it's over we should be back to golf temps...at least in the 50's and some 60's.

I'm from Michigan, so I've been through what you're getting. I never minded the snow. What I didn't like was gray days from November through February.

I'm in Michigan. Gray days until April.

I used Mr. Ku Bota to snow blow my driveway TWICE. 15" of snow the first time, another 6" second time. One more pass in the morning😁

The Blizzard of '38 in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. My uncles had to climb out of the upstairs window to shovel their way into the downstairs door.

Strange, but nice, question and, since I've a few minutes to spare, I'll contribute .....

Sorry to hear about your blizzard conditions and trust that most of you will deal with it with aplomb and come safely out the other side.

Here in the UK it's relatively mild, temperature has risen a little for the weekend and there's NO snow - sorry !

I've just responded to a UHH member's question about "mirrorless" cameras - a photographic area where the USA really needs to catch up - but, despite my photographic leanings, I'm about to go out for an evening of dancing Argentine Tango - for me it's a combination of dancing (really nice to hold so many lovely women in your embrace) and taking pics, for everyone's enjoyment, of the event.

No snow. Great weather for the time of year .... even here ..... and much to look forward to !

Hope y'all cope with your snow !

I remember when I was young, the girls all had the dance cards. Now, finding a man to dance with is more difficult, so the men have the dance cards. I bet yours is always full with such a positive attitude. Have a dance for us over there. The ladies will be lucky tonight!
